A short clip of the first lap of the Regional Race. I had to start at the back of the Group 4 race due to one new tire (SFRegional FF rule). I want to thank all the Vee drivers for the courtesy they showed me by their point-bys and giving me room to pass as I tried to chase the front runners down. Very cool video! seems like that camera shakes quite a bit though, but still great quality. That looks like a very fun car to drive ;D

Dave,
whats the difference between the regular FF and club Ford spec? I thought it was just tires but it looks like you have a lot more ponies than the club fords (as well as better lines!)

thanks guys. smsazzy is right. The difference between the CFs and FFs is the aero package. The CFs were built prior to the DB1's introduction in 1983. That was the game changer. David Bruns designed the car based on wind tunnel testing. The shocks/springs were moved out of the air stream. The radiator was positioned behind the driver with NACA ducts feeding it. The lower A- arms are flatten tubes. A CF can handle just as well as a late model FF, can have the same hp and weight (1100 lbs w driver) but it gives away topspeed. If a CF and FF are having a drag race, the CF hits the wall (aero speaking) around 80-90 mph. The camera is a Contour HD 1080P that I shot at 960P in a 4:3 aspect @ 30 fps. I wish I had used the 720P 16:9 format @ 30fps. There is also a 720P @ 60 fps for action I plan to try. With a micro SD 2 GB card, it will record for about 36 minutes at the 960 setting. I just picked up a 4 GB class 4 card to try-The battery becomes the limiting factor. I got the camera from I/O port for $300. You can find them at Amazon, etc. there are many different models including one with built in GPS. As for the shaking, I not sure where that comes from. I thought the camera mount was rigidly mounted to the rear engine cover, but I guess not after seeing the video. thanks again guys Ken R was in the FC and had a plug wire loose which explains his lack of power. As for being on a flyer--"brakes are for sissies"

I saw the video from dad of the second race and Gavin's un-planned meeting with the safety barrels, great stuff! Now I just need to hear a deal from Gav to not post the video of it
