THanks Tom, I have sent my SECOND letter (Bruce and I were 2 of 3 drivers who wrote the first time) to the board.
If you have a reduction gear starter on your shelf, consider taking the time to write to the board...unless you find it is a useful PAPER WEIGHT!
Not heavy enough for that really.

Well I got a nice letter from the Club Racing Board saying they had received my THIRD letter on this topic and were going to bring it up at the next meeting. This was in response to Brian's efforts (Many thanks Mr. M) to revive the topic which has been dismissed so summarily.
I cannot beleive that I have spent so much of what time I have here on Earth arguing about what should be a no brainer. The only guttering flame of warmth that I have is that some others have spent an equal or greater time arguing on the opposet side of the issue. That flame is warmed even further by the fact that some of those on the other side have gone so far as to write the board with obviously FALSE figures. (The reduction gear starters are NOT 7 lbs lighter than the boasch unit, they are 4 lbs lighter.) In addition the new BOSCH units are EVEN LIGHTER than the reduction gear units.
If so much effort can be spent on a non performance issue (DO NOT EVEN START GIVING ME THAT CRAP ABOUT THE WEIGHT ADVANTAGE BEING PERFORMANCE ENHANCING OR I WILL QUESTION YOUR DIET PLANS AS BEING QUESTIONABLE IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE RULES) why can't we channel some of that energy into making sure the rules grow with the passing years.
Better still, maybe some of it should be used to get cars on the track?
