Although the field was a bit light, the racing was not. I did not see the Sat race, but Brian, Brett and Gavin had a rousing fight through out the race on Sunday. Unfortunately, a FF ended up deciding the outcome. While lapping the vees, an indecisive driver balked then accelerated into the group only to brake hard at the apex of 8 forcing Gavin into a defensive move that resulted in a spin. After the lapping was finished, Brian was separated by a couple of seconds from Brett who ran consistent fast laps to win.
I can never figure out why a car, that is clearly much faster on the straights, has to force the issue in the turns. Oh well, amateur racing at it's best.
Arron and Rich, in the much improved Kellison, had a race long duel that ebbed and flowed till the end.
The First race was exciting as well. Blake had shifting issues during the qualifying and had to start from the rear. It's really impressive to see how much faster the Firsts are on the straights. Blake rocketed through the field to join Tim to contest the lead. Tim was stalking when Blake lost the grip in 6 and spun to the infield. He said later that with all that hp he's having to learn to be more judicious with the throttle on exit. Just can't mash it down when you have nearly twice the HP. All in all everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and the weather was cool but nice. If it hadn't been for the conversation with the CHP, my motorcycle ride would have been perfect.

Gavin taking out the barrels at the exit of 14 was quite entertaining.

Brian - "Exit" is very generous of you thanks. It was more like middle...I hit 3 of them. Quite embarrassing. Good thing only a few people saw it. It would be REALLY embarrassing if someone had caught it on video.....

It really was some great racing.
I was very impressed by the consistency of the front runners especially seeing as Brett and Gav are relatively inexperienced and Brian was in a car he'd never driven before. They all drove hard and close, and kept it clean.
