We landed in Chicago yesterday @ noon. Got to the track at 5:30 Checked in and helped Stan unload the trailer.
Tested today it was raining for the first two sessions, the third there was a incident on first lap and they sat on pit lane for half the session. Got two laps, came in and changed the tires. after one lap the checker came out. We did scrub one set of tires in. not the second. The third session was in sunshine, and a dry track. So far things are not going as planned.
We changed the motor and went to dinner.

Bruce, how did practice go? What happened to Stan, the on-line timing shows 1 lap?

Dean, Stan had trouble engaging his top gear. He will probably solve it tomorrow and get out for his session.
Seems Toad went the quickest from those from the Left Coast in Vee's. While Toad minor had a lack of oil and a broken push rod. Problem was solved, since he was going change motors anyway.
Tomorrow is expected to be dry. will report then.

From the video, white vee slid on oil out of turn 7, followed by Turner who slid into him. Heard later Edwards then ran into Charlie. They both suffered bent front beams, Charlie had body and rear suspension damage. B. Swanson hit the wall and bent his L/R wheel and axle, possible axle tube. T. Swanson over filled his engine and donated some of his oil to the track. About 7 other cars damaged. Only 10 cars completed the first lap, that included Dennis And Ron.
This might be how the field is set since they expect wet weather for the next two days. Basically they got three laps.

Dean, Looked like a busy day and will continue to be today. Everyone seems to be busy fixing their cars. As for Stan he said a simple fix replacing the seals. He should be out today.

Q2 was good for Terran not so much for Toad or Ron. Stan did not run yet. We will have to wait for Saturday to see how Stan does. He starts last. The Q3 weather rained during the FV session, was wet and still drying during FF. Today rained in the morning.

Finally home, the cars will return in due time as Stan has important business on his return trip. The trip is not complete until the final member of the team has safely returned. Speaking of Stan, who it seems has won the hard charger award in his class, going from last to fourteenth, after suffering not being able to run a lap until the race. He will be bringing back another car from Wisconsin, as Jeff Jorgenson took possession of another, in his defense of the west at Laguna next year. Congratulations to Terran for his well run eighth place finish. Just imagine how well he can do given more experience.
