Well--Being as there is no Vintage FF folks here maybe there is someone with a FC. Pretty close to a FF but with a smaller motor and fatter tires.
I am working on a LeGrand FC that I found a few blocks from my house here in Seattle. I would like to know more about it's early history and also find some parts it needs so I can finish the restoration and run it this coming year. I have traced it back as far as the late '60s/early '70s when Carter Penley had it. At that time it was yellow #62. It had very distinctive long pods in front of the front wheels and a small rear wing just over the engine. He raced primarily in Southern California, Riverside, Laguna Seca, etc. He does not remember who he bought it from but thought it had been in a small wreck just prior to his purchase. It's SCCA roll bar stamp is 57.002 which is kind of cool. Who's car got stamped first in the San Diego Region?
If you have period pictures, copies of The Gridlines, anything to do with LeGrand FC cars I would put it to good use.
It still has it's 109E and 6 speed Hewland and the front pods but the rear wing was replaced with a much larger one. It is getting close to being together and it needs a few things. Airheart rear calipers, rear axles- donut to u joint, LeGrand front wheels 6 or 7 x 13 with 4 inch lug spacing (IMP), any information on the 6 speed Hewland MkIV and gear sets. I could also use some advise on chassis set up although it probably is like a short FF. It will be fun to get this back out on the track after it's 35 year nap. WHAT CAN YOU FIND IN YOUR GARAGE?
Thanks for your help.
