The UK has adopted new rules to delineate the racing surface. I think this would be great for Thill T12. Most drivers straight line it, especially the tintops. Lap times would rise => no more track records. Any thoughts on adopting this for SCCA? www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/112242

Enforcement will be the challenge. We can't be very consistent without trained observers and we've been without D.O.'s for a long time. A review of passing under the yellow incidents shows we don't have the structure or the consistency to justify this program.
Turn 12 used to cause a pretty penalty when there were tires out there but too many people complained. Same situation in 8 and 14.

We have similar track limit rules in BC.. It's a problem in one specific corner, at least. It's a tight chicane and tin tops blew right over the inside curb. Penalties and protests didn't work cause as good as they are, the corner workers wouldn't always catch it. So they put up cones. This lead to cones being knocked over and into the track pretty much every session. People were still blowing over it, but now they had the excuse of avoiding the cones! Recently, they decided to install tire bundles on the inside of the curb. It stopped the guys who did it on purpose, but it also "stops" the folks who blow the corner by mistake. It happens... Anyway, long story short - this was never even an issue for open wheelers as the curb was too steep to begin with, but now we have a nice solid thing to hit and break our cars with.. I say leave it alone
