It appears that the 1200 P&C's are no longer made. My research has found that resleeving the cylinders will prove expensive. About $85 per.
My question to the West coast group is, and this is not an invitation for flaming or arguing, which of the following options would you prefer:
1. Adapt exisiting 1600 P&C to our 1200 motors about $500.
2. Convert to a complete 1600 motor. About $3500 plus conversion costs. i.e. exhaust, bellhousing modifications and possible fuel cell enlargement.
In either case, I see a gradual implementation of the bigger motor which means no one will have to convert until they want to. There will be restrictions on the bigger motor to maintain the competitiveness of the 1200.
There are technical questions to be answered. Several engine builders will be building test motors this winter. While your input is greatly appreciated, there's not too much point in discussing details at this point.

Brian
Lets go with 1600 P&C on the 1200 with a modified/increased deck height to equalize performance. Is the pin to deck dem the same with 1600? This sould be workable with SCCA.

I heard that new 1200 piston and cylinders are soon to be available. Anyone know when?

An order has been placed with Kolbenschmidt for new 1200 cylinders and pistons. They will be a bit more expensive than the Brazilian ones but will be of superior materials and last much much longer. Since they will made to order, it will take a few months. Look for them to be stateside in early Spring.
