This past weekend at Thunderhill I heard that the FV1600 guys in the "Great White North" use a sealed engine supplied by a single manufacturer in Southern California.
Is this true and does anyone up there have any thoughts about the concept?

Hey Marty I cannot confirm nor deny. However, I do believe the fellas in Ontario run 1600's but whom the builder may be is a mystery. My bet though would be a Canadian builder as Torontonians believe whatever can be done below the border can easily be done in Toronto. (their smick don't stink, in other words) The group in Manitoba may have switched as a region. But, I think they're still like us SCCA followers, with the exception of radial tires. In BC here, well, we're just like you guys; our smick stinks. If you can nail down an area for me, I'd be happy to snoop around for you. Scott Arthur

Old thread, but here is what I know,
The Canadian FV 1600 (they changed their name to Formula First in '04) guys simply have rules that anyone can build to, i.e., open to any builder. There may actually be only one builder as there are only 2 or 3 Canadian First (FV 1600) cars running. The largest grid they have had in 8 years is 5 cars.
