3MC;
I ahve been trying and trying to find someone in So Cal to handle that end of the coast, but to no avail.
Saw your post on the POLL and wanted to say "Don't lose faith" in FV, especially on the West Coast. We still have parts out here because we don't get SNOW (VW of the vintage we speak of had a tendency to MELT under too much road salt).
Dietmar, can you help this lad hook up with the So Cal Vee crowd?

Thanks for the quick response. Ive been reading alot of your posts and am curious about what you think of me building a F1st car or should i build a FV car and convert it latter if and when F1st takes hold i dont want to be the only one in SOCAL to have a F1st and have no where to go (if im not the only one in SOCAL already) Thanks again and i look forward to this forum everyone seems extremly willing to help.

I would go with a FV and later convert as it is right now the Fst cars are not set in stone. There may be changes to the rules and besides I'm not sure what group you would be allowed to run in. We out here have some reservations and questions with the directions they are taking Fst. Marc Edwards runs FV's down there you might get some input from him.

Don't know about the So Cal CROWD as there are currently only 5 active vees in Cal Club, but I can give you a number for the FV rep in Cal. Club if you wish to email me directly. Dietmar fvraceri@worldnet.att.net

See my post on the SoCAl board, I would recommend that you start out in a Formula Vee and do some racing rather than go with Formula First but you have to do what you WANT to do. As I have said elesewhere a FST on the West Coast is classified as an Formula Special and is required to run in the "wings and things" run group.
Dietmar;
Do you have E-mails for any of the other So Cal Vee drivers and do they even know that the West Coast Board exists?

Marty:
I can not speak for the few(3) that I do have addresses for, but I will relay the info about the site. Whether they have an interest to "sign up" is another matter.
