GAS CARD PROGRAM
Hey guys and gals of previous group 7 (FVs and F5s)
We all know that without the workers, the drivers would not be able to play with our “toys”. I know every driver is on a budget and stretched to the limit financially, but the majority of workers are stretched even thinner. We get to drive around and wave to them and they wave back because they ENJOY watching us race and have a good old time. But at the end of the day, we load our toys onto or into our trailers and head home thinking about what we need to do to go faster. The workers get into their vehicles and think about the next race they will work for US. I think the drive home for a worker is much nicer when someone else pays for their gas. That someone should be us, the drivers.
The group 4 drivers have had a tradition of helping the workers out with gas cards. Each race weekend, a drawing is held during the worker's lunch. The lucky winners receive a $50 gas card to help defray some of the expense of coming to the track to watch us have a good time driving our cars.
In order to make this happen, each driver in group 4 is asked to contribute to the purchase of the gas cards. Luckily for us, Peter Nosler handles the dirty work of collecting the moneys and purchasing the cards. Our responsibility is to send a check and one time during the season, go to the worker's lunch and handle the drawing and pass out the cards. Depending on the donations, three to five cards are handed out at each regional race weekend.
A general rule is to give $10 to $15 per race you intend to run. If you don’t run most or all the races, maybe give a bit more per race. With the addition of the FVs and F5s, we should be able to fully fund this program. I would still include at least a $5 donation to the Worker Appreciation Program (WAP) on the entry form.

Good luck in the coming season. Wave to the workers to acknowledge their efforts.
