The M5 was finally finished Thursday morning about 2:00AM The first on track session was ended early by the throttle cable slipping out of the barrel nut. The second session was cut short because of excessive sound(102db) Both Blake and I were DQ'ed. The race started from the back of group 4, by turn 5 I had passed many cars when the throttle slipped out of the barrel nut again Memo to self: build the next throttle pedal with a limit stop so as not to put excess pressure on the cable. Oh well................... It was still fun.
I would like to thank the following people for there help:
Jim Lepetich for building an awesome engine and doing great fabrication work on the frame.
Ron Chuck for his help on the dyno.
Mike Ohanlon for spending the last 3 weekends in my garage helping me assemble the car.
Because of the limited time on track I do not have many pictures, however, here are a couple from the grid before the race started.
