i was talking to brian harding at portland this weekend and thought you all might like to see these, and they might work in a vee application. they're made by strange (the guys who make drag racing and circle track rear end parts) and they're quite nice little pieces. they've got a stepped piston (i think it's 7/8 and 5/8) so they move a lot of fluid fast, then give you the good pedal modulation of a smaller master. height is 3 1/2" and length is just over 3 5/8" long. i'm not sure what they cost, but thought i'd throw it out there as an fyi... -ethan

Ethan So I guess that would be for drum brake cars were there is a lot of travel before the shoes contact the drum? If one would use this on a disk brake setup, there would be hardly any pedal movement, right? dave

dave- that's basically it. we've used them with some success on cars in the shop using the girling "ar" calipers, which are a two piston caliper, but with 2" pistons that require a large amount of fluid movement. but i don't know why they'd be a bad thing on an, ahem, "modern" setup, such as our cars. brian harding was telling me that he thought current f1 cars used a variation on this theme. -ethan
