As of 1/1/09 all formula and sports racers with faired in roll bars will have to provide lift tow access without the removal of any bodywork or fairing. This is per the latest Fastrac.
This means if you must have a hole or slot in the fairing or some other means available for your car to be lifted. I think a strap placed near the CG of the chassis would suffice. Since this rule was implemented at the worker's request, you can be assured that it will be part of this year's tech procedure.
My understanding is this is in response to problems arrising from the attempted removal of a Stohr in a sand pit during the Runoffs.
