Yeah, I was wondering what all the snickering was about. I think Bruce has bribed the school officials to make that a mandatory requirement for you to receive your license on Sunday.
Bruce must have learned some lessons from the 24 hours of LeMons folks. At least you don't have to weld a steel cut-out of a barnyard animal to your roll hoop!
Definitely sounds like we will have a good group though :-)

Yes, we had another good school weekend with good weather; Sunday was the best with clear skies, moderate temps and a light breeze.
There were 6 students in 'our' group, 5 FV and 1 FST, and all passed. They are:
FV: Mitch Young, Brett Hope, Andrew Fulgham, Terran Swanson and Don Krysakowski FST: Tim Wall

OOPS! My apologies to the Club Ford and Formula C drivers. I didn't monitor those cars as closely, but expect that they passed the school as well.
From my notes, they are: Eric Boucher and Michael Manning, FC; and Scott Vreeland, CF.
Sorry about that!

Apparently Terran must still be exhausted from driver’s school because he has not posted. I know I’m still tired from all the crew duties. We had 5 FVs (Andy, Brett, Don, Mitch, and Terran), 1 FST (Tim), great weather, awesome instructors, and the incredible SCCA workers. All in all a great 2010 Driver’s School.
A huge thanks to Colin, Larry, and Ron for all the spares and their trackside support to keep us going. We started out Friday morning with patchy clouds and the smell of gasoline. Mitch’s Mysterian had a leaky fuel cell. Jeff C. diverted from Oakland to pick up a cell from Larry’s shop in Novato on the way to the track. Ron helped patch the cell with 4 minute JB weld for the first session while Jeff was working his way through traffic with the spare. Mechanical gremlins continued to plague Mitch throughout the day. A spare carb from Collin finally resolved the issue. Terran went out on rock hard, worn out American Racers. They were all I had and I was expecting to run intermediates or rains all weekend. Collin took pity and loaned him a set of Hoosiers and his lap times started looking really good. Brett (new owner of Colin’s car) and Andy (renting Larry’s Mysterian) were fast out of the gate. Don spent Friday working out how to get comfortable in the Vector. Andy had the FST converted Adams going nicely.
I made the mistake of commenting, “I’m glad we are not having as many problems as Mitch” and was promptly slapped up-side the head by fate. Terran came in complaining of an engine sputter coming out of the corners. Much thrashing and borrowing of parts ensued.
Sunday saw a couple mishaps. Don went wide out of turn 6 came back across and hit the corner worker station hard. He got a contusion on the leg from the steering box and some bruises. Otherwise he seemed fine. The front beam sheered so there is a bit of repair work to be done. It looked like he was finally getting settled in the car, so it was a shame to see the car damaged. Terran spun early in the first race. A SFR coming around the corner got loose and hit him pretty hard. If have nice HD footage of it. Welcome to the term “a racing incident”. So much for my shinny new paint job. The SRF was done for the day, but thanks to Ron’s skill with a 5lb sledge (using my brand new trailer as an anvil) we were able to get the Caldwell back on track for the final race.

Yes I am still very tired from all the driving, sorry for not posting sooner! All of us driver's had a very good time (or at least that is what it seemed like to me) throughout the weekend once all the issues were solved. Thanks to Ron, Colin, and Jim for all the good instruction! And yes I did have an incident in the first race on Sunday. I was trying to keep up with Brett, Andy and a couple SFR's and messed up my entry into turn 8 (trying to set them up too quickly ), car got loose and I looped it backwards in the middle of the turn. I was then promptly introduced to the front end of the gold SFR, but as dad said Ron got everything fixed no problem and i got back out for the last session! ALTHOUGH i still think the beginning of this all started when my dad took out an UNMARKED bottle of something and used it to WIPE the car down, thus bringing the bad juju!! But who knows ... Can't wait to finally be able to race with everyone out on the track now!!! (of course after hearing me being in a car-to-car accident who wants to race with me now?! )
