Brian,
that figures - sadly we dont have the numbers anymore to justify regionals and nationals.
Dan,
its unfortunate that your approach to racing is not the norm. The only way we go quicker is to learn, learn, learn.
I had the experience of watching a lot of group 4 racing from the sidelines this year and the consistent pattern was many CFs racing people they shouldn't be. I haven't gone back to check this to be fact, but i think every race i saw had an example of the lead vee pack being split by a CF. Thats pretty frustrating.
On the other hand the continentals were downright courteous all year.

Ian,
I can imagine its tough standing in the hot pits watching everyone race. Its tough for me too.
I will admit racing with Tim Wall a few times this past season because he walked over to me in impound at Laguna and said, "Its no fun running by myself, why don't we race each other?" So we did for a few laps during our races.
Other than that, Terran Swanson and I have traded positions at Thunderhill from time to time, but we were by ourselves. Sure was exciting when he lost his engine cover in front of me....
I will admit to following the back of a small group of mid pack vees at a distance to learn from them, but certainly not intentionally splitting up a group or racing with them. If I got by a group of vees, I worked real hard to stay well out in front of them so I wouldn't hold them up where I was slower.
I agree the FCs have bent over backwards to be polite, and watched how some almost parked themselves so they wouldn't mess up a drafting group. The closing speeds are pretty spooky in some places though. I do get concerned that some folks don't mind their mirrors - all classes included.
Its great to paddock with you, Gavin, and Sean. Lets get together for a pint at the next event. Say hello to Sean for me. Have a great holiday with your family.
Regards, Dan

Just to let everyone know the Double National at Thunderhill has not yet been changed to a Rational. The Directors are still undecided. No thoughts on Laguna in May either.
