The Formula Vee race looked to be one of the best of the weekend, until leaders Ron Wake, Dennis Andrade and Brian McCarthy encountered traffic that broke off the lead battle. Wake, of Lafayette, Calif., took the win in his Mysterian, over Andrade by 13.316 seconds.
I got this from the scca.org site

Dennis won the Sat race and Ron fought back frm dead last after contact on the start to finish 2nd. Mechanical gremlins plagued my car all weekend. A throw out bearing exploded durning the Sat race and while I could run without using the clutch, it was slipping so badly I had to pull in rather than burn down a flywheel. On Sunday, after a early am engine pull, things were looking better with my having the hopes of holding on to Dennis and Ron, but a huge spin on a high speed sweeper called Taladaga ended my race. Great weather, great workers, they actually clear cars without a pace car, and great racing. Now to Portland in search of redemption.

As some of you know, the vee field protested the SOM regarding the combination of SRF and FV. The protest was, as expected, denied. The appeal, while SCCA said was well founded, did not overturn that decision. We now have on record our positon that this class combination is dangerous. Hopefully none of us will ever have to use it in court.
