There has been talk of a memorial race honoring Dan Phipps to be run next year. Those that want this to happen can help, when the new year schedule comes out, you can pick a date. A committee has yet to be formed, so there is a call out for volunteers.

How about March at Thunderhill? If it is run as a rational, that would be perfect. Then those of us coming for the National can participate as well.

Whether everyone like the March 10-11 or not, I think we should do something on the National weekend anyway.

It would be hard to get any regional licensed only people for that weekend, unless it's possible to have our own run group and allow regional licenses? Then there is an issue with tire choice, any other thoughts from anyone else?

I agree with Stephen, there's nothing wrong with 2 races in memory.

I too agree, and have gone one step further and invited those down south, Cal Club and Vara. The people up north please let those know too. Hopefully, we if can get a large enough field, we can get a separate race group.

Regional points for the Regional guys, National points for the National guys.

Steve,
I talked to the R.E. and I got a negative response to a rational. I have been pushing the idea since last year. A worthy idea that I have not given up on.

Stephen, I was going on the impression that it wasn't going to be a rational weekend. Bruce, if we want to get driver's from down south with Cal Club and VARA the best track to have the race at would be Laguna as it is the shortest drive for most of them and a great track to run, it would most likely generate the most interest, unfortunately that doesn't help the guys up north my vote is for two weekends!

Hi Bruce,
I went through the VARA Schedule and the dates that can work for us are as follows:
Laguna - May 18-20 Infineon - June 1-2-3 Laguna - June 7 -10 Infineon - July 6-8 Thunderhill - July 28-29 Laguna - Aug 11-12 Laguna - Aug 16-19 Just dont have it the weekend of Sept. 7- 9, That is when VARA is planning the big Victory Lane Formula Vee Challenge Race at Buttonwillow Raceway.
Let me know what you decide and I will be glad to help get the So. Cal drivers involved.
