I can't make it due to a personal conflict that weekend, but will be there in June.

The Buttonwillow national is on the same weekend so that is splitting the fields but there is also a BIG difference in prices. The double regional @ Laguna is $535. The double national weekend @ Buttonwillow is $370.

Really? Perhaps I'm naive just moving here last year, but drive past Laguna to save $165? That makes about as much sense as a coke (tire) habit.

Tim and Dave, never underestimate the thrifty sensibilities of a vee guy. $165 is (tires and entry fee not included) almost what it costs to run a whole weekend. Plus, speaking from experience, I didnt realize how bad buttonwillow sucked until I got my FF. Vees dont notice the bumps and most of the drivers stay at the track so smelly hotels and crappy restaurants dont affect them; vee guys bring their own fun...

Thanks for the clarification, Ethan. Well, it looks like will will have 7 Vees, 7 FF, 7CFs and a trio of FCs=24--a small group. Lets all watch our mirrors and be safe. And be sure to keep out of harm's way (meant as humor) dave

The double at Buttonwillow is a super tour event with many extras including a free dinner. Cal Club has always run low key, friendly events. The Ranch Cafe has really good BBQ. I haven't found the motels any worse than Willows and a whole lot cheaper than even Salinas. For me, it's about 150 miles further and the lower entry fee pays for the hotel and meals. To each is own, but I like green flag sessions and full days.

We are headed for Buttonwillow. Terran needs the National points. We are taking the recently purchased RV. I think it may have more square footage than the local hotel rooms and at the moment is less stinky. Not sure about the stink after a weekend with 4 guys staying in it...
