My second race in my formitable career was one I will never forget. The weather was at the extreme. Rain, hail, thunder and lightning. All that the sky could bring down on us. I got soaking wet, it was cold and with the sky not letting the sun shine, it was dark. All this and yet it was one of the most exciting races I have experienced. I couldn't see past the front of my car, the water coming off the wheels of the cars in front of me. I was down on power, so most of my passing was done going in or coming out of corners. Not being able to see I gambled and went where the water spray coming off the cars in front of me was not. I had to just hope that there was track there. I finished on a high that comes from doing something you know you got away with, something no sane person would do except for the love of racing. I learned something, I love racing in the rain.
