My interest in seeing the length of the body increased is multifold.
1) Speaking as an artist there are aethetic considerations at play here. The Original specs were fine for 1962 but tings have changed, whihc play into my second point
2) In software there is an interesting phenomenon, sort of a "chicken or the egg thing". Excellant products require a "push" to sell it in this world of immediate gratification world. CDROM languished on shelves until APPS like "Wing Commander" REQUIRED people to buy them to run them. Formula Vee is still the best "products" for the low dollar racers in the United States, but the cars that are available have become MUNDANE, even Mysterians (which I still consder the best looking cars on the market).
To get new "butts in the buckets" we ned a new aesthetic to act as the Avatar for the next generation. Simply extending the waterline of the bodywork designers would be free to create this new aesthetic. At the same time it would not obsolete existing equipment to any great level, and ungrading current cars would be relativly inexpensive.
I know that, speaking as the sole provider of all Mysterian Bodywork, M1-M5, I have a vested interest in this particular concept. At the same time it is vendors, such as myself, that support the FV community and have the greatest vested stake in making the class unsuccessful.
Throughout the entire discorse on the internet on how the class needs to change I have detected a not so subtle discontentment with the Vendors in the community (Ron Chuck, Bill Noble, Kurt Lemay, myself and others) as if we are getting rich off our customers. Outside of Mr. Noble I know of few Rich Formula Vee vendors.

Right on, Marty, Adding a foot of bodywork to the 127 inch (stumpy!) vee would allow for much more elegant shapes, and make them much more attractive. I think that change alone would do much more than the F1st fat tire change to make vees look more modern. The cost would be minimal and would give all these imaginative vee folk a chance to exercise their talent. Thanks for all the work on the board. It gets better daily. Mack
