It's endemic to a polical processes to have special interests that have unusual access to the processes. It's common in SCCA where leaders tend listen to those with the abililty to deliver votes. The special interests, and sometimes their just close friends with a leader, usually determine the outcome of many decisions. If you look at recent rule changes in FV you see this process at work. It never seems to amaze me now one person can effect change in some private way.
I think the time has come for the drivers to unite and establish an organization to communicate their needs and advocate their position. I have tried to get RDC envolved and they don't seem interested in much more than their enduros. The workers are a very efffective polical force and receive commenserate consideration from the board. Maybe it's time we do the same.

Blake,
I looked at the 2008 supps and it looks like there were no changes from 2007. In light of the previous comments, I'd appreciate your insight about this subject. I'm hoping you can shed some light on the 'backroom' dealings about this as you usually do. Thanks.
Also Blake, I found a June 1974 issue of Hot VWs that has a yellow car on the cover named the "TATUM". The copy is yours/your dads if you want it - let me know.

The June 74 issue did have my dads car on it. That was a wedge crusader we took the front body section off of and widened. Then we made a frame for a rear engined car. It was quite fun to drive and I actually drove it to school on nice days. I would like a copy if you don't mind so I can show my kids. The rule change on the split starts was not put in the supps contrary to what I thought I was agreed upon however, they schedule will have group 4 with split starts and the schedule is considered part of the supplemental rules. So we should still be OK.

Thanks Blake for the info. I was hoping there was more to this.
The magazine is yours; I will bring it to the track.
