Who could ever believe that I would have a race car trailer worthy of stealing. But it has happened. Sometime last week my new shiny trailer was stolen from it's space at Ron Chucks Shop in Redwood City. Those of you who know what it looks like please keep an eye out for it. If you see it connected to anything but a VW transporter or Discovery call the cops. Please check your local craigslist as well. The license plate number is 4GY7707. For those of you who have not seen it it is a low bed flat top dual axle trailer with diamond plate every where and a carpeted flat bed. There is also a tool box at the front of the bed. If you have any information please send me a private message.

The trailer was recovered this morning by the Santa Clara Sheriff. It was stolen by a professional trailer thief, there were over 200 trailers recovered as part of this arrest. Way to go Santa Clara County Sheriff.

Diamond Plate is all there even the rims and tires. License plate was gone, (not a big deal). Tool box was gone (also no big deal because it was empty). The idiot thief sold the trailer to someone who tried to register it and because of the make and age of the trailer the serial number was stamped into the frame rail so there was clear evidence of who the trailer belonged to. I was lucky most trailers have the serial number on a plate riveted to the frame and thieves just pop it off and ask for a new title. Take my advise and lock your trailers!!!

Brian, Glad to see that you got your trailer back. Was it the Santa Clara County Sheriff's office? Reason I ask, is I'm thinking they might need to dispose of some trailers through an auction and I might get a good deal... I checked with the Property Department of the Sheriff's office and they had no knowledge of 200 trailers being recovered. -Jim

Yes it was Santa Clara County Sheriff. It was the vehicle theft task force.
