I was planning to bring my Zink club ford to drivers school this year, but it looks like it won't happen (again. arrrgghh). I would like to rent a CF or FV for school. Any recommendations or suggestions are welcome.
Thank you.

Hi Dan,
The "Garage Sale" section of the Wheel has numerous rental car ads, including Vees. Blake Tatum, Colin Cross and Larry Bacon are three that I saw immediately. All have been around for quite a while and should be able to help you out.

Jim,
Thank you. I was able to contact both Blake Tatum and Colin Cross. Colin sent me info via email. I hope to make this happen, but right now need to take care of a family emergency..

I just heard that half the open wheel group are Vee's. That's 7 out of 14. The sad part is there were 3 other's, but due to one thing or another they couldn't make it.

I just heard from Ronnie that the talented and beautiful Mike Fazio will be one of the Vee students. He will be making some races this season. Woopee!!!!

We now have an additional 4 vee and 2 CF driver's. I didn't include Fazio because he isn't sure if he is going to drive his FC or get a real race car and join us in Vee's the other was Rich Bergen whoi is already a vee driver who went through again to learn more and he did.

For those interested, the new Vee drivers are:
Aaron Meyer (Scott's son) Ben Becker Chuck Cooper Don Shaw
All did a real good job at school and we hope to see them at a regional soon. With the exception of Aaron, the other newbies own their cars so are more likely to race; as opposed to last year where most of the novices were using borrowed cars.
The Club Ford drivers are Perry Arnold and Daniel Wise; don't know if they own their own cars or not.

Congratulations to the driver school graduates! Chuck, Aaron, Don, Ben, and Rich, even Fazio, all improved every day and IMHO are ready to race- the 2008 season looks very promising indeed, cant wait for the opener at Infineon ;D

I'd like to thank the academy...
Wow, what a challenging and intense weekend. Absorbing all the information in such a short period of time was like drinking from a firehose. The adrenaline still hasn't worn off.
Guys, sorry I was so slow all day Saturday and Sunday AM. It didn't seem to make much sense to beat a loaned car senseless just for drivers school.
Sunday AM, Spinning in 6 to see the pack charging towards me was exciting. Much thanks to the driver in the SRF behind me who knew I was about to spin before I did. Almost wish I had video, but its ok, I keep seeing the SRF and the rest of the pack when it plays back in my head with all the spinning scenery. One moment you were all behind, the next instant you were all in front!
My instructor, Fred Poli and those paddocked around me provided tremendous help. I would not have received my license without them:
David Hutchings - Loaned me his car and crewed for me the entire weekend. When I needed to get much faster or flunk, Dave said "I can't believe I'm saying this, but its time you drove it like you stole it." The Tiga ran great.
Neil Porter was kind enough to help fit me to the car so much better. 20 minutes of time making adjustments to fit me to the car, some gear change suggestions, I went 7 seconds faster the last session on Saturday afternoon. He sat down with me, gave advice with his track map Saturday night. He asked all the right questions. I listened to every word. Thank you Neil. I will bring my Zink down to you so I can fit in my car properly as well. I know it will be money well spent.
Greg Mercurio was really helpful directing me to follow him around to find the line. All those slower laps on Friday allowed me to fully get used to the car, learn the line. Two of the SRF instructors helped too.
Ted Idlof, Thanks for your encouragement.
When you come flying up behind an orange Zink Z10 with a big white "N" on the engine cover, I will drive the line so you can get by.
I plan to have my car ready for the T-hill regional in May.
Best regards to everyone, Dan Wise
