There is a growing group of FST cars running with ProAutoSports in Arizona. ProAutoSports operates under ASA. Right now there are five cars that have made it to events this year. We know of five more under construction. And a couple FVs show up from time to time.
Our next event is the weekend following Thanksgiving at Firebird Main. Friday is practice and testing. There are three session on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday there is a One hour enduro. This is our next to last event of the season, with only a one day event on December 15 to follow.
The FSTs run in the Yellow group which places us with the Fords. Most of our events are held at Firebird International Raceway where there are three different tracks. Starting January we will have a race weekend each month thru June. July is too d**n hot to run in Phoenix, August we run with Southwest Motor Sports in Albuquerque at Sandia Raceway, followed by events in October, November and December.
AZ is a long tow, but if your looking for track time, we have lots of opportunities.
PM me if you have any questions. Greg

Report on the weekend events. We had a total of six cars running. Tim Haskins won the 100 minute enduro on Saturday and John Jacobs won the 30 minute race on Sunday. There are four more FSTs under construction and may be running as early as January.
FYI: There has been some question on the Arizona FST cars. We are all running 1600 Dual Port motors. Like other areas of the country, we have gone our own direction on tires. There is a good supply of slightly used Goodyears that we have utilized that allows us to run four to six weekends for about $100 a car. And we have not gone to restrictor plates. We are however going to be discussing that at a driver's meeting in December and there is a lot of support for going that direction.
We don't have many SCCA opportunities to run and that isn't expected to change if the CB adopts FST as a Regional Group. We do have 10 weekends a year to race with ProAutoSports. However, once there is a nationally recognized set of rules, we will modify to them. It is our desire to have racers visit and race with us in Arizona. And we want the ability to run our car in other areas as well.
Someone PMed me asking if it was true that we ran 2.0L motors. At one time, three or more years ago, there was only one VW powered car and he was running with the Formula Fords, so he built a bigger motor to run with them on the straights. But everyone is running the 1600 dual ports now.
